Springtime Weddings

The bee’s are buzzing and the flowers are ALMOST in full bloom, Springtime has begun along the Crystal Coast.  Warmer air has been moving in and temperatures are on a slow climb upwards gearing us up towards the summer season.  But before we toss on the swimsuits and sunscreen, lets take a moment to enjoy the Spring wedding season.

So far we’ve hosted two weddings at the Inn this Spring, both of which were spectacular and stunning events.  Just a couple weeks ago, we were blessed to be able to host Megan and Austen’s wedding ceremony.  Now this was a smaller celebration, a bit more intimate, but you could immediately tell this was a close knit group of friends and family who all knew how special this day would be.  Megan was an absolutely stunning bride with a smile that could light up the room.  You could sense the excitement these two had towards the day, well really towards forever.  The bridesmaids were beautiful in their turquoise dresses and the groomsmen donned grey suits with a matching turquoise sash to tie it all together.  A mix of serious moments and humor made for the perfect ceremony while Megan and Austen read their vows to one another.  The floral arrangements by Coastal Petals added the perfect amount of “POP” to really set them off.  Chef Joni out of Beaufort, NC cooked up some of the most delicious looking meals we’ve ever seen as well!

Now this past weekend was a different story, we went from a smaller, more intimate ceremony to an absolute party!  Madison and JC had roughly 130 friends and family members over to the Harborlight to celebrate with them on their wedding day.  With a party of this size, we did have to bring in outside facilities from Blu Site Solutions of Jacksonville.  The weekend started off when Crystal C0ast Tent and Event Rentals came by on Thursday afternoon to begin set up of the tent, they were working around some serious wind and weather we were having in the area, but the forecast was shaping up to be perfect for the wedding day!  The couple hosted their rehearsal dinner under the tent on Friday evening, dinner consisted of chicken and BBQ cooked up by one of the couple’s family friends.  It was a great casual feel with a relaxed atmosphere that everyone seemed to enjoy.  On wedding day, we served the group a healthy breakfast of granola and yogurt, as well as, a farm fresh veggie quiche with sausage and potatoes.  After breakfast, the girls went for hair and make-up at Wild Olive Salon while we continued set-up.  While the girls were out, we freshened up the bridal suite so they could all be comfortable getting ready for the day, making sure they had everything they needed.  All of the vendors were arriving and the day was shaping up to be something spectacular!  The ceremony itself was lovely – bridesmaids were in sage green and groomsmen were in a light grey suite with bowties to match the girls, a fantastic color combo.  The band Brushfire Stankgrass from Asheville came down and added their signature bluegrass sound to the festivities.  The band played in the background and the party enjoyed a dinner catered by SeaSide Sensations and cake by White Oak Bakery.  All of the magic was capture by MPA Weddings out of Asheville and soon ladies and gentlemen, we’ll have a video to share with you all!
